2016 in Three Words (ok, maybe four): Heartbreak, Adventures, Self Discovery
As 2016 comes to a close, we can't help but self reflect.
Over the course of the past 365 days I have shared and experienced special moments, kisses, adventures, laughs, heartbreak, and so much more with those closest to me. At the same time, I learned a lot about myself - probably more so than in past years.
2016 wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. To recap, all in one year I experienced:
The high and excitement of finding a person that finally 'gets me'
The heartbreak of ending things with the same person I thought 'got me'
A memorable trip to Peru with family and friends. I'm a lucky girl!
A solo trip to Hong Kong and Singapore - Yet another reminder that I'm actually quite comfortable in my own company
The fear of resigning from my corporate job to pursue more purpose and passion driven work. Hello, freelance world! (Scary, but also liberating.)
The fear and sobering realization of whatthe Nov. 8, 2016 elections might mean for me as a woman and many other groups.
A sense of self-awareness - I am stronger than I think . So grateful to those who continue to support and believe in me. You know who you are.
The launch of LA LA LOCAL - A passion project curating my love for all that is local and special to the City of Angels and the place I call home. Thanks to all for your encouragement and joining me on this journey!
As I look ahead towards 2017, I am reminded ofthe quote:
"Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson,
So here's to another year of adventure and more LA discoveries! Who knows what the future holds, but I promise to make each day count.
Wishing you all a very bright and happy New Year!
